SUPPORT OUR VISION

HELP SUPPORT OUR VISION BY MAKING A FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION TO ONE OF ARTIVE’S INITIATIVES!

THE NEED:  Artive’s mission and scope is shaped by the daily risks associated with buying, selling, insuring, transferring, and excavating art and cultural objects. The need for protection is urgent…

  • According to Interpol’s 2018 statistics, countries with the highest rate of art theft (Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and Libya) are also the countries with the lowest percentage of recovered objects; close to 0%
  • Also, according to Interpol’s 2018 statistics, the most commonly stolen object types are sculptures, paintings, and ceramics
  • Hundreds of thousands of Nazi stolen objects are still missing
  • 482 (value in millions) of artwork is stolen in the UK per year
  • 95% fake antiquities are for sale online

Our ambition is a simple one: we want to make the world a better and a more connected place by bringing forth a change in the way the art world trades, researches, and communicates. With your financial support a more transparent and trusting community will develop through an open access and free due diligence platform.

ONGOING INITIATIVE:

OPEN ACCESS

Artive’s main and most ambitious project is to make our data available to you. Enabling and ensuring the accessibility of our data in a safe way is directly in line with one of our key motives: to provide opportunities to undertake efficient and affordable due diligence searches while building a stronger awareness of its importance. Doing due diligence checks shouldn’t be a matter of affordability!

Help our data go public!

Artive will at all times uphold the integrity of its relationship with individual and corporate users whose information is in our care. We will not publicize sensitive and confidential information without consultation and prior consent.

By building a publicly accessible feature to our database and thus publicize information about claimed objects, Artive will be able to:

  • Continue maintaining a platform that identifies and records high-risk art, cultural objects, collections, and antiquities sites involved in unlawful transactions or incidents
  • Establish safe, ethical transparency by creating both an essential tool for due diligence research prior to any transaction, and a site to publicize objects currently active in a claim or incident
  • Provide our wide audience with a resource of highly-diversified objects registered in a single, user friendly setting

This initiative includes three stages:

Develop:  Artive’s Database system is the most important aspect in our endeavor to change the way the world conducts due diligence. Development is a continuous and crucial part in enforcing our mission. We are currently turning our area of focus to Version 2.0 of the Artive Database so that it may include an open-access platform for our growing community.

Populate:  While we continuously increase and diversify our registrations, implementing newer technological advancements and developing flexible source data import tools into our existing database will enable us to accomplish this faster, enabling us to include a wide variety of objects and registrations.

Outreach:  A large portion of the funds will be allocated to necessary marketing strategies to promote the database. This includes adding more members to our team to increase exposure of Artive’s mission by applying for national and international grants, organizing workshops and training sessions, and building brand awareness in specific geographical areas.

INITIATIVE: Digital Outreach

In order to expand our impact and serve various regions and communities around the world, Artive continues to grow our database by collecting and digitizing information on at-risk and claimed works of art or cultural property. Your donations towards this project will allow Artive to provide technological support to a series of areas that face daily threats to their cultural sites, properties, and artifacts. We want to go beyond recording data; can we add meaning to it? We believe that by translating digital records into knowledge that can be used by individuals and communities to protect objects from these threats, publicize objects that are missing, and encourage safer market decisions in the future.

Digital Outreach: providing technological support and solutions to at-risk sites, communities, and regions

To kick-start the series, Artive is proud to be partnering with the CPKU, the Center Against Trafficking in Works of Art, based in Bosnia-Herzegovina.  The CPKU exists as an NGO to collect and circulate reports of Bosno-Herzegovinian stolen and missing pieces of art.  Artive is currently registering these claimed works of art to support their efforts of locating and leading advocacy for the importance of their cultural heritage.

To play an active role in this digital outreach initiative, allowing us to provide support and technology to countries and communities in need, please make a financial contribution below!
